Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Afripraat ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, protects and deletes personal information when you use the Afripraat website, web app or Android app available at afripraat.co.za. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy applies together with our Terms & Conditions.

We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use learner data for marketing or profiling.

Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, it is protected by contractual and technical safeguards that provide a level of protection consistent with POPIA (section 72).

8. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself at any time: log in, open the menu, go to Settings → Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your profile, learning progress and notification tokens, and cancels any active subscription first (with a full refund if you are within the 14-day money-back window).

You can also request deletion by emailing info@afripraat.co.za from the email address linked to the account, with the subject "Delete my account". Deletion requests by email are completed within 30 days. Parents or guardians may request deletion of their child's account the same way.

What is deleted: your account, profile details, learning progress, classroom membership and notification tokens. What is kept: payment records required by law (kept separately, without your learning data) and anonymous entries in the security log.

Afripraat does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use browser local storage and Firebase Authentication session data only to keep you logged in and to save unsent progress on your device. Clearing your browser data removes these.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
